Mandy72 do you know if you're optimally treated? When my t3 runs low I get very bloated.

Ok, so still trying to find your feet w the right meds? Are you on t3 only? When I was splitting my dose I found that if my afternoon dose was delayed (or if I forgot) I could tell because my feet and ankles swelled. I don't split the dose anymore and I don't get the swelling. I'm on t3/t4 combo and a much lower dose of t3 than you (just 10) so I'm not suggesting you do the same, I'm just saying for me it is deffo tied in w my t3 levels.

T3 only i have read a few people take the full dose all at once but im too scared too mainly because im home alone all day, maybe on a day hubby is home i might try even just 40mcg and see how that goes, i just allways feel swollen and bloated lately (worse now the weather has got hot)

Do you keep propanolol (beta blocker) in the house? If you went a bit hyper you could always take a propanolol. Just a thought.

yes they are on repeat at the moment, im supposed to take 20mg twice a day but find my pulse is fairly low during the day so dont take it

evenings my pulse can raise quite a bit so take 1 when needed

Do you wonder if your pulse rises because you're getting a bit low on t3?

I know what you mean about feeling both hypo and hyper. I used to get palps a lot, turned out it was being undermedicated that does it to me. (I did get palps when v hyper, like on far too much t3, but not when slightly hyper).

i have thought that yes

with feeling hypo and hyper is hard to tell what to do for he best

i do know last year water retention was an undermedicated symptom so i guess really adding maybe 5mcg to my evening dose might help

and like you said i could take a propranolol if needed

does anyone know if a diuretic works on an as and when needed basis. My feet and ankles swell too in this heat and desperate to take a diuretic I have here but didn't want to take every day, just when needed.
