Armour or Thiroyd and dosages

Hi - I am currently on 75mcg levothyroxine and want to change to either Armour or Thiroyd. Does anyone know what the equivalent of 75mcg levothyroxine is to Armour and also to Thiroyd? Also which is better Armour or Thiroyd?

1 grain NDT is equivalent to 75mcg Levothyroxine. Armour is vastly more expensive than Thiroyd but cost does not mean it is better than Thiroyd or other brands. I suggest you start with Thiroyd or Thyroid-S and if they don't suit try NatureThyroid or Wp and Armour if none of the others suit.

Thanks so much - any suggestions on how to start taking Thiroyd. Should I just stop levothyroxine immediately or should I wean myself off it?

There's no need to wean off Levothyroxine. You can switch straight over to 1 grain NDT split into 2 doses 8-12 hours apart.

DON'T do a direct swap usually the T3 is too much for the body to handle. Build up over a few weeks till you feel fine. I am sure that doctors tell you to do a direct swap so they can say they ruled it out!
