I had never heard of Hashi's before finding this forum, but as it seems to be responsible for so many cases of underactive thyroid, should I get my thyroid antibodies tested? (My docs blood tests didn't cover this.) My doctors won't test for Vit D either. Which Blue Horizon blood test will cover these 2 thing please?
Do I need a Hashi's test?: I had never heard of... - Thyroid UK
Do I need a Hashi's test?
EleanorM-G The Blue Horizon Thyroid Plus Eleven includes all thyroid tests including both TPO and TG antibodies, plus vitamins and minerals including Vit D
Try to get hold of a copy of Thyroid for Dummies .Its a bit out of date but very good on the thyroid and the disease in all its forms. You have to educate yourself to be able to understand all the issues.
Hi, I hadn't heard of it either, I have had it for years without knowing. I have given up the gluten, soy and dairy 10 months ago. I take 200mcg Selenium daily and my antibodies are decreasing. If I'd known this I could have been helping myself sooner and would not have become as ill as I was on the stupid low dose of 25mcg Thyroxine only. I am amazed your GP won't test your Vitamin D levels!!! what a PILLOCK! My health has been helped by getting those levels up along with B12 supplements.. Seriously I've moaned about my GP loads of times but they did do these tests when I ask. x
looks like I need to do the test then, just in case.... What levo are you on now, and has your strict diet made a difference?
