Abigail Severn, MSc Health Psychology student at UCL, is looking to recruit volunteers for an online qualitative health survey about barriers to protective health action.

She is looking for people who are thinking about changing their behaviour, but who have not yet done so.

She is interested in why people ignore/avoid the risk associated with smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, and alcohol consumption.

The data collected is completely anonymous and can only be used for the purpose of the current research.

The aim of the study is to create a more meaningful measure of risk acceptance in unhealthy behaviours.

If successful, it is hoped that this measure can be included in interventions that spur people to take up health proactive action (e.g. stopping smoking) by seeking advice/professional support.

This study has been by approved by University College London's Research Ethics Committee 01/06/2016 (6692/001).
