hi anybody know if its true that we should not drink green tea if we have thyroid problems as it can cause cancer, i would be grateful if anyone has any info.

I have never seen any evidence that green tea causes cancer - if anything the opposite. All tea contains some fluoride, so if you are avoiding fluoride it makes sense not to drink too much tea.

It contains fluoride, yes, but natural fluoride. Not the c**p the put in toothpaste. It also has goitrogenic properties, but once you're on thyroid hormone replacement, that shouldn't be a problem. Depends how much you drink.

I actually avoid it along with white tea.. I am allergic to it.. It brings on anxiety symptoms and hives for me along with the typical itchy throat...I have hypo Hashimoto's
