Hi - I've been hypothyroid for over 10 years and only discovered all the alternative treatments in the last few months. Has anyone tried Tom brimeyer's diet approach? His books cost around a $100.. Thankyou

At first view, his marketing techniques scream "stay away", but there are useful articles available at his forefrontheath.com -- then again, that could be seen as all part of the ploy.

Ray Peat is referenced a lot, so his articles would be worth looking at.

Forum member frogandprincess had bought the program. I hope she's OK and her health wasn't worsened as a result.

Think you are better following Dr Michael Mosley's diet on thebloodsugardiet and dietdoctor.com not only does the science make sense, but they are transparent and you don't have to spend lots of money to join. I did buy Michael Mosley's book 'the blood sugar diet,' and followed recipes in that and on his site as well as dietdoctor site. You don't need to pay a penny for information on either site.

I signed up for his free tips but very dismayed about his sales strategies. I feel like I'm at an Amway meeting! I don't like the fear tactics either. I'm not doubting his knowledge base. Perhaps follow him on fb for a while. Hopefully other buyers will come forward. You could also search something like: forefront health reviews, and definitely check out forum topics here as suggested by Clutter.

Thank you for your replies. I paid $7 for the initial diet and have found it helpful. Coffee & orange juice first thing, and monitoring blood temp and pulse. His diet is also based on scientific research, and he claims to have cleared up his own hypothyroidism by using it.. I agree that his hard sell approach is not attractive..

Hi, I still follow the diet, but not rigidly. I really like the sweet potato chips! They are high in Vit B12. I avoid sugar, so use honey - I don't think honey or fruit/juice is as bad as sugar. I have ME, so not made huge difference to energy levels. Good luck! :)

I think the diet tries to give you the extra vitamins etc you need through nutrition. He claims to have resolved his own issues, and helped thousands of others..

Hi

I bought Tom's book 18 months ago & still follow it to this day. It doesn't cure hypothyroidism but I feel it helps. His company are always trying to flog something. I thought I had found the answer. Eventually though, after pleading with my Endo at the end of 2017 to start me on Levothyroxine, he did, 25mcg. I finally got my life back, lethargy gone, etc. Wockardt didn't agree with me, aching legs & nausea. So my GP changed me to Eltroxin which was better & was eventually raised to 50mcg by my Endo. Unfortunately, my sweats returned & bad flare-ups of spots & acne on my face & scalp & my weight was starting to increase again. The fillers don't agree with me. So, I bought some T3 & split it into quarters thereby taking 6mcg daily with the Eltroxin & this helped. But I have now taken the step of purchasing Thyroid 3 & have been taking it for just 3 days up to now. So far so good, but it's early days.

I got the courage to buy Thyroid 3 after reading reviews on this site as most seemed to feel better by using it. I'm taking just 1 tablet before I get up in the morning but I feel I may have to increase it in time as I feel a lull in the afternoon.

If Thyroid 3 doesn't agree with me I can go back to Eltroxin & T3 or try another brand of NDT which is a preferred road for me.
