I have my long awaited appointment with the endo tomorrow. Next week will be my 1st year thyroidectomy anniversary..I feel better than I did but since October I have been battling fatigue, joint pain, mood swings, horrendous pmt, IBS, and an inability to lose so much as a pound(despite 3-5 times a week gym sessions, slimming world, 5:2, calorie counting, LCHF diet).
I'm hoping to be heard tomorrow. I want to try T3. I have no idea what my T4 or T3 are..I know my tsh is 2.9. I've been tested for rheumatoid arthritis along with the usual blood tests and everything is 'fine'. I can't have any more levo(on 150mcg) as my levels are 'perfect' but I can't continue feeling like I do.
Any advice? I don't want to be fobbed off and sent on my way with a B-S story.
Thanks x

Sorry my reply is late in the day, I hope you get it in time! The one thing that I gave the Endo when I saw him was a list of 40 hypothyroid symptoms to show I am not making up the way I feel. He did argue about depression giving the same symptoms but I told him I was not depressed just that no-one listens to how I feel! I am going to put up a post of my 40 symptoms just in case it might help someone. Good luck nat74.
Again a bit late but if you're dieting and not losing then you may want to think about Paleo; I started the Paleo elimination diet 4 weeks ago and have lost half a stone (which is magical for me). It's not easy because you're very restricted for the first 30 days but then you start reintroducing foods one by one to see if you have a reaction so at least there's an end in sight.....
I have to admit I'm not feeling brilliant on it (you're supposed to have a few days to a couple of weeks while your body adjusts then get a huge burst of energy; I only seem to have had the former and am still waiting for the latter to kick in) but I'm figuring that with hypo everything is slowed down and also that with that amount of weight loss there's probably a strain on my liver etc to get rid of the excess hormones etc released from the fat and as my liver is already dodgy that's probably part of the problem.....Anyhow I'm hoping that this energy thing will kick in at some point
My digestion has improved enormously so there's obviously something that I've been reacting to, my skin is clearer and my hands/wrists/ankles and face are less puffy. I suspect that much of the weight loss might be water but to be honest I don't care where it's coming from as long as it's working......
