Came across this article which shows that thyroxine can reduce antibodies in Euthyroid patients.

Thank you for posting. When I was diagnosed back in 2005 I was prescribed T4. Anti-bodies were high but all the TFT's were in range. My GP here in Crete said the T4 was to support my thyroid whilst under attack.

I have often quoted this little event without knowing the research - so thank you.

Yes, good to have some research to present to the closed minded Endos we have here. Was told by one the other day that there is absolutely no need to test antibodies while TSH is in range.

Thanks for posting, Josiesmum.

I was very symptomatic with euthyroid Hashi's. Symptoms swung between hyper and hypo so hard to see whether T4 would have helped or hindered unless a reduction in antibodies was the help needed to resolve all the symptoms. GP and thyroid surgeon were convinced that euthyroid Hashi's was asymptomatic and symptoms were non-thyroidal but they resolved after thyroidectomy so I'm not convinced.

You can prove anything if you decide the results BEFORE the study.
