Ok, so I am at the end of my tether. Way to tired to cope with working full time, i have only managed to work mornings since January. I am now waiting to see an NHS renel specialist in August as my kidneys are also showing a problem in blood tests - stage 3 chronic kidney Disease. My GP is convinced that with my TSH at 3.3 (range up to 5) my thyroid is now under control so my symptoms of fatigue, exhaustion and muscle/joint pain are chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. So I am looking for a private GP or Endo to give me a second opinion. Any suggestions for contact in or near Gloucestershire?

MrsFitz,

If you are prescribed Levothyroxine your fatigue and joint pain is probably due to undermedication. The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status and for most patients this will be when TSH is <1.0. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email louise if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP when you request a dose increase.
Hypothyroid patients are often low/deficient in ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate which can cause fatigue, musculoskeletal pain and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms. Ask your GP to test to rule out deficiencies. Post the results and ranges in a new question for advice.
