Trouble conceiving with hashimotos

Hello,  I'm newly diagnosed with hashimotos.  My anti bodies are >1000.  I'm having a lot of trouble conceiving.  Has any one with this high of anti bodies been able to get pregnant?  And if so,  how?  I'm currently trying to lower them by diet,  supplements  and armour thyroid. .

yes..this is what Hashi's does and maybe it is a blessing in disguise.  i would look to functional medicine and getting rid of the Hashimoto's before conceiving and miscarrying too.  You want to  be in good health when having a baby.  Look at Izabella Wentz website.  She got rid of Hashi's and has been waiting to have her family, once she is healthy and ready.  Diet is very important.  You need to stop eating many foods and heal your immune system..that should be the focus.

Hello there,

I am Hashi's.

It took me over 2 years to get pregnant and I had suffered miscarriage's too.

As soon as I went on Levo first 50mc then 75, I fell pregnant within 6 weeks😊

I am now 7 months pregnant  and have my bloods regularly checked.

Good luck xxxxx

Congratulations!  I thought that would be the case for me too.  I have also done that.  But no luck.  I've had two miscarriages as well.  But haven't been able to get pregnant in over two years.

Have you had your B12 levels checked.  PA is quite common wiht hashimoto's - and thyroid - its one cause of B12 deficiency - and one of the consequences of a B12D is fertility problems.

unfortunately there is a lot of overlap in symtpoms between thyroid and B12D so it does get overlooked as a possibility.  To make things worse the test for B12 isn't one where you can just go on the numbers - you need to look at symptoms as well.

I'd go straight to LDN...

What is LDN?

Low Dose Naltrexone.

It's had great results in people with autoimmune disorders (including Hashimoto's).  They're not too sure of the mechanism of action in how it brings antibodies down (perhaps something to do with endorphine release) - but it does.  To the point where some people have gone into remission.

I know the urgency when TTC and whilst eating well and having the right supplements is on your "to do list", I wouldn't be fannying about but getting straight onto the private clinic where there's a doctor that prescribes it  (I'll pm you).

If I knew about this stuff 6 years ago, I would've been on it like a car bonnet!

I just spoke to my doctor about this.  He had never heard of using it.  But is open to any valid research I can provide for him.  So we will see I guess

I have always had high antibodies but have been fortunate to conceive only twice and carry both to term. This was before any dietary intervention or messing around with different meds.

If you don't mind me asking,  do you know how high your anti bodies were when you conceived?

Hi there I wondered if you had any updates on this? I've been TTC for 3 years, have done 2 ivfs, one fail one miscarriage at 8 weeks. I have hashimotos and have been on levothyroxine for a year and modifying diet - my TPO count was 520 and is now around 300-420.

I am really interested to know about other people's experiences. Doctors here in UK won't prescribe LdN as far as I'm aware, but I follow Shannon Garrett on Facebook and she is very much an expert on this.
