Please recommend a private endo in East Anglia (but can also travel long distances).

Hi. I've received the list of private endos from Thyroid UK (Louise).

I need to see a private GP who really covers all of possible thyroid issues - hyper- hypo- and the autoimmune problems, too. They need to be able to treat all conditions, and to prescribe any meds, and hopefully liaise with my own GP.

I'm in the East Anglia area, but can travel anywhere in the UK.

As advised by a HealthUnlocked mod, I'm also going to list some Drs below. If you've had any dealings with them - good or bad, please PM me privately.

1) Dr Bernard Willis, of Harley St, London.

2) Dr Oliver Frey, Bury St Edmunds.

3) Dr Annelize Meyer / Dr Ruzanne Roux, Chichester.

4) Dr Charles Forsyth, Reigate, Surrey.

Many thanks.

Norfolkrose,

As a first step you could contact the doctors' offices to check whether they prescribe T3 or NDT.

NHS GPs aren't obliged to follow the prescribing regime of private GPs and endocrinologists.   Some GPs are not allowed to prescribe T3 without the recommendation of a NHS endocrinologist.

NDT isn't licensed for UK use so it is rarely prescribed on the NHS.  NHS GPs can prescribe NDT on a named patient basis but few will prescribe an unlicensed drug.  Most members using NDT have private prescriptions or buy online and self medicate.
