ok, I wont bore you with the details but i'm currently on 175mcg of levothyroxine and am now feeling worse than i have ever felt and i'm beginning to give up hope. GP wont increase levothyroxine above 175mcg and when asked about T3 told me that no doctor in the UK would prescibe it, same story with endocrinologist, as my blood TSH is finally normal she wants to wait a year at the current dose before increasing it to 200mcg (also said that you can't measure t3 in blood so wouldnt ever be prescribed).

i was reading up on armour and so many people seem to be getting on so well with it. I really want to give it a go, but tbh i wouldnt know where to begin looking, can any of you please PM where you get your armour thyroid from?

Your doctor is a misinformed idiot.

There are lots of people who get both NDT and Liothyronine (T3) on the NHS, although they are in the minority, so Ive no idea where he gets his no doctor in the Uk will prescribe it from. Its possible that it is blocked by your own particular health trust. And you most definitely can get T3 levels tested, although again that is at the labs discretion and they only test T3 if the test shows abnormalities or if the patient is on T3, but if no one gets Lio prescribed then the doctors wouldnt know to test for it!

For Thyroid meds to work correctly, you need to make sure all your other mineral levels are good, B12, ferritin, foliates, vit D etc, its possibly not the thyroid meds that are making you feel bad but something else. get them all checked and up to good levels first, you may not need to buy Armour. Also it can take up to a year for your levels to even out, changing meds may not necessarily be the right thing to do until you have given the levo proper time to work.

you havnt posted your test results, are you at optimum level of levo? 6 monthly bllods are norm until the right level is reached.

Dont rush into the Armour idea until you have explored other avenues, is my advice, that and change doctors
