Sore throat and Carbimazole

Hi recently started on Carbimazole and have woken up today and yesterday with a sore throat. I think it's probably caused by sleeping with my mouth open so throat gets dry.

Should I phone go or should I wait and see if it gets better throughout the day.

You should talk to your GP and get a blood test organised.

The advice is to see your doctor if you get a sore throat while on Carbimazole, so if it persists after eating breakfast, it would be good to do so.

First time that happened to me I had a WBC done the same day and it was fine, the next time I hung on then as it was coming up to a public holiday I saw the nurse who together with the doctor decided on a 'wait and see' policy which I was happy with and things were fine but I would definitely have a WBC done. Make sure you have got and have read the patient information leaflet, it is very important. Hopefully everything will be gone for you.
