Do you really mean no sugar, wheat, grains at all or can I have them in small amounts. weight is an issue to but a lot of what I have read confuses me in regard to vegetables that I can have, some are good for weight loss but not good for high triglycerides...seems a mine field !
Yes, total elimination of wheat/gluten, grains, all processed food, sugar and dairy.
You can include a very small piece of fruit and/or a small handful of berries. This elimination will help clear all fatty deposits on the liver and will help you shed some weight too.
You can get some inspiration and success stories from the Wheat Belly wheatbellyblog.com/success-... and if you are on Facebook, they do have a page.
I fully agree with you about the confusing messages out there. Even trained doctors not only they are confused but even brain washed by pharma to push for statins. They have forgotten year 1 of medical school whereby it was highlighted that high carbs diet will be stored as fat and it will increase lipids.
Now when they see that cholesterol levels are high they ask patients to avoid fat and to go on a high carbs diet.
Cholesterol goes even higher and then they prescribe statins.
They're definitely connected, but were you told to fast before the blood test? My triglycerides were recently flagged as high, but I didn't know I was going to be tested that day and had eaten late as I wanted to last past a 2pm dental appointment. My triglycerides were 2.83 (upper limit of 2.00) but I've read that 4.0 is OK for non-fasting.
