Hyper Reaction to Food/Supplements Interfering with Levothyroxine

Hi friends ... I noticed that having foods/supplements that interfere with Levothyroxine will cause a hyper-like reaction. In my case, magnesium and caffeine taken at any time before or after Levo, will cause my heart rate to be fast and not able to sleep. Anyone experience such issue?

Yes, the rise in metabolism caused by the increase in thyroid hormones means that the heart-rating increasing substances, which I used to drink by the jug full - ie, coffee - to get by, drive the heart rate and blood pressure too high these days. (Wine too.)

Filtered coffee seems a bit better, but it is a very noticeable effect.

I guess it shows the treatment is working to some degree. But it does on the days I am v tired and fall back on old habits, feel v uncomfortable, as though the heart is being pushed too hard.

I cannot drink any caffeinated drinks anymore or I will get very uncomfortable feelings like Hyper thyroid!
