the benefits of dairy fat

A very interesting article in French on the benefits of dairy fats. I find this interesting also because the Hertoghe doctors in Belgium (generally considered among the best hormone doctors in the world) tell patients to avoid milk, cream, yoghurt, and cheese.

Do they actually say why you should avoid it? There could be a number of reasons, not just that it's bad for your arteries. Or maybe they're just not up to date on the latest thinking. Dalle did tell me to avoid milk and yoghurt because of the hormones it contains, but said that butter, cream and cheese weren't so bad. I ignored him, of course. lol

We are told to drink tons :D

Anyways milk over here is different than in most countries. We seem to have different cows. Only 2% of milk (globally) is from these cows. In this milk casein is in form that is especially hard to digest.

But for example based on studies skimmed milk is the worst thing ever causing a lot of health issues as it is not milk at all. It is colored junk. They say it can affect development of diabetes and other illnesses.

I think best milk is fresh milk from grass fed cows that are not given hormones or antibiotics. So milk fat can be good but it has to be organic and pure. I am not saying we should consume a lot dairy, but pure and good products taken some times could benefit us.

Nice if you can get them! Can't here.

We have one or two farms where you can get some. But you have to go there and basically drink it there as it does not stay fresh long enough. So, not many has the opportunity!

Where is here? In the UK? The best milk is sold in Waitrose which is not only organic but is non-homogenised as well (homogenised milk is another thing which should be avoided).

You can get decent milk in quite a few places in the UK, but it's very expensive. A farm near me does grass-fed unprocessed Jersey milk (and ice cream!).

They repeat more or less what is in Thierry Hertoghe's book. He recommends going back 6000 years in time and see what we ate back then. On the list of recommended foods that you get at your first appointment, you find: fruit (not be mixed with other food), vegetables, eggs, meat, poultry, fish. Foods to avoid: dairy, grains, alcohol, caffeine, fast food. The only thing you should drink is water, preferably still water.

In the French version of his book, entitled "How to stay young longer", TH writes that no species, except humans, consume milk after infancy and, milk from another species on top of it...that is the argument used to "prove" we are not genetically created to digest milk or anything made with milk.

sorry, this was meant to be a reply to Grey Goose's question (see above)!

It's OK, I've seen it. lol Yes, that's pretty much what Dalle says. But he doesn't give a recommended reading list.

In his book, Dalle recommends eating soy! And we had a big 'discussion' about that.

But he does extol the vitues of olive oils and other good fats.

I can't read french, but dr Tent (his videos are on youtube) recommends fats, cholestrol, etc. He has his own dad on such a diet and the man is in his 80's but looks decades younger and is in excellent health.

I don't buy ANYTHING the establishment tell me anymore.

It's a shame this article is not available in English :-(

Hertoghe's books have been translated into English, I believe.

Yes, the book "The hormone solution" is called "How to stay young longer" in French ("Comment rester jeune plus longtemps"?)

Completely OT, I know, but I just thought I should ask, as there are many Brits here...in your opinion, how likely is the "Brexit"...? I am asking because I order lots of supplements from the UK, and it's great because they are never subject to customs inspections, nor do I have to pay imports fees, unlike products from the US or Asia...:-( So, for me, having the UK leave the EU would be disastrous, from a pure supplement point of view...
