I have found like eating lettice ( I use iceburg) will lift the lowest of moods very quickly .

I have also found that itchy eyes are relived by giving your hands a good wash. ( It really works )

I have also discovered on this forum that gripe water relieves migraine.

Does anyone else have any remedys they would like to share

Mandyjane, I used to wash my hair bent over the bath or basin to relieve a tension headache. It didn't work so well standing in the shower. I guess the posture, warmth and massage were all helpful.

Iceburg lettuce does nothing for my mood. Chocolate works wonders though.

I like your thinking Clutter. I did a food intolerance test a while ago now but the chap was speechless it the end. He said most will fag up in and the highest he had come across as 20 and they were anorexic so I knocked that in the head by getting 42. Lettuce as flagged as a no no and I'd always said that lettuce goes straight through me do I've improved by sticking in the main to thinks that the test showed I can eat. Chocolates made me smile as I can go without chocolate for ages and then want to binge! But I do believe in listening to my body and in a binge situation I was also craving something else. It's a time a go now so can't remember the exact details but my then two craving showed up the same deficiency so I took that as carry on with the chocolate! But seriously I do think the craving was a cry from my body to make me feel well so I reckon that we are all different and that these 'good' foods vary according to our individual general health. We need to listen and then realise that because we are getting the green light for something we incidentally enjoy then that need will will be satisfied and we also need to realise that it can/should be tapered off.

Silverfox, I've not done food intolerance tests and avoid foods like cucumber, raw onions and peppers which give me heartburn and indigestion although I'm fine when they're cooked . I used to get hives when I ate strawberries, even strawberry flavoured yoghurt, so I ate raspberries instead. I seemed to grow out of that in my 20s.

If you're getting irregular heartbeats, try coughing a few times - it sometimes helps me.

Annie-7, I'd never heard of it. Will certainly be trying that in future :)

Hi Clutter, I will add that since taking T3 together with T4, the irregular heartbeats and palpitations have calmed down a lot!

I also followed the suggestion of another member about the Vitamin C/salt/potassium adrenal cocktail. This calms down the internal vibrations I still occasionally get.

Annie-7, I found T3 calmed down adverse effects I had from T4 as well as improving FT3.

Glad the adrenal cocktail helps too :)

I get internal vibrations too when my hashimotos decides to flare up, they feel awful! I'd really love to know what an adrenal cocktail is if you don't mind sharing how to make it and how to take it please? 😊 x

Hi butterfly1408 mine consists of:

To a glass of water add

1 fizzy vitamin c tablet (or vitamin c powder)

1/4 teaspoon of Himalayan or sea salt

1/4 teaspoon of Cream of Tartar (in the baking isle of supermarket)

I also found this thread healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

That's great thank you, I will definitely try this 😊 Do you take it every day and is it best to take it in the morning or evening? x

I just take it when the dreaded vibrations start, which tends to be either in the evening or in the early hours.

To be fair, they haven't been so bad or as frequent lately.

Mine tend to be in the evenings too, either when I finally get the children to bed and sit down at about 9pm or when I'm in bed trying to go to sleep. Im glad yours have improved lately x

It's difficult trying to explain to someone who's not affected by Hypothyroidism, exactly what it feels like!

Both Endo and GP looked at me blankly when I tried to explain!

The only remedy I have to pass on - and last time I spoke about it on here, I was thoroughly scoffed at! - is laughter being good for pain. Especially toothache. And I make myself laugh when I have toothache, and it's soon gone. So, there you are - for what it's Worth. :)

However, there is scientific proof for that, something to do with endorfins, or something...

Laughter is the best medicine for lots of things.............along with a bit of T3 added to your T4 etc.

I always feel perkier after my monthly comedy night out, it does me the world of good!

Well, I didn't say it could replace hormones, just relieve pain temporarily. :)

something very weird has happened to me as well recently regarding my pet bunny, and I just can't explain it. Most people think pet allergies are due to the fur but in actual fact it's what they transfer onto their fur when washing that causes the most problems. Bunny's wee wee is pure ammonia and after I also had pet ratties a few years ago, I discovered I had a problem then after coming out in an itchy rash around my neck when they used to sit on my shoulder. Never had any more after I lost them both :( but had bunnies instead. Unfortunately the same problem. When I am in the open air or have a window open I don't have any problems but during the winter months when I would bring them in with the heating on I would have to live on Benedryl over the winter months as the allergy got that bad it would affect my breathing and and i would become almost asthmatic.

Only have one bunny now and she has been in all year as she is now old with arthritis. I still have problems BUT my allergy doesn't seem quite so bad, although my heating isn't on full pelt due to the mild weather. I seem to be able to go near her for kisses and snuggles without too much of a reaction. Weird and I don't know why, unless my menopause had something to do with it
