Swollen thyroid and Armour

I have recently increased my dose of Armour to 1 grain a day. I take 3/4 in the morning and 1/4 before bed. I have noticed that my thyroid swells slightly about half an hour after taking my morning dose and the swelling remains until early evening. It doesn't stick out but I am aware of it when I breath and it also makes me cough. I am not really sure what happens after the evening dose as I take it before I go to sleep.

This morning I decided not to take any Armour to determine if it really was the Armour that was causing it and I didn't get any swelling.

Does anyone else have this or know why? I am thinking that perhaps I should visit my GP.

Mouse, perhaps you could take an antihistamine tablet an hour before taking Armour. If the swelling resolves it may be that you are having an allergic reaction to one of the fillers and you might consider changing brand.

Thanks Clutter for the suggestion but I can't take antihistamines; they just knock me out, even the non-drowsy ones.

Today I tried splitting my dose further; I had been taking 3/4 grain in the morning and 1/4 grain before going to sleep. Today I took 1/2 grain in the morning, 1/4 grain before lunch and I will take the final 1/4 as usual at bedtime. So far today I have been ok so I wonder if the T3 is somehow affecting my thyroid gland and making it swell.

Mouse, I don't know, but you seem to have found a way around it :)
