Hello,

Halinka here (Euthyroid Hashimotos/ saw endo privately who agreed to trialing 25mcg thyroxine for symptoms of low mood and brain fog and about to change to a trial of 10mcg of t3 on his recommendation. Also on the anti-dep mirtazapine)

Just back From Poland where I had some bloods done. They were done early morning before taking my 25mcg of thyroxine.

Tsh - 0.91 ( 0.35-4.94)

Ft3 - 2.14 (1.71-3.71)

Ft4 0.92- (0.70-1.48)

Anti tpo 36.58 (<6)

Anti tg 17.32 (< 4.5)

Vitamin D - 31.5 (range 30-80)

Would my Tsh have been higher or lower had I taken my morning thyroxine?

I see that my tsh is a lot lower but my ft3 & 4 are still quite low. My bloods were tested on Poland before I started on thyroxine. That's how I was diagnosed with hashimotos. The results then were:

TSH 2.226 (0.35-4.94)

Free T3 2.59 (1.71-3.71)

Free T4 0.81 (0.7-1.48)

Anti TG 40.33 (<4.5)

Anti TPG 55.26 (<6)

My endo (who hasn't seen these results as I saw him a while back) wants me to stop thyroxine and try 10mcg of t3 instead. I start tomorrow. I'll send him these latest results. I wonder if it will effect his decision. Perhaps Its a good thing im charging to t3 given the low result?

The good news (I feel) is that my antibodies have dropped. I don't know if this is cos of the thyroxine or if it's to do with having gone gluten free for last five months.

Hi Halinka, so glad you are taking an interest in your recovery. Going gluten free may indeed caused the improvement. I don't see a time frame here and am guessing you began treatment five months ago along with the new diet?

Yes, normally as you add T4 hormone, it will cause an increase in your T4 level but would take about two months to build up and any increase would take longer. T3 has a much shorter half life so will activate much faster. I assume your doctor did not like the dip in T3 and determined that you were not converting your levo. There are many reasons for low conversion and cortisol or iron are the big ones. It would be good to get all the ducks in a row but it looks like you are on your way. You both seem to be very aware of what this is about.

Your TSH peaks out around 3 a.m. so taking bloods early is best and wait to take your dose of any hormone until after. Some say to fast as well.
