Dr. K is one of the best, he has done a lot to advance the understanding of Hashimoto's and related problems. PR

Hellenback thank you so much for posting this insightful link. I also looked at the superb links related to my challenging Bradycardia.

The Ataxia tests are mind boggling and yes I've realised that my balance was off.

The speaker was hard to follow as he spoke very quickly however my understanding was that the gluten cross reacts with cerebellar tissue and the GAD enzyme that makes GABA and Purkinje fibres.

The Pull and Hand to nose tests are also useful to baseline and monitor.

So...

anyone who is chronically hypothyroid (i.e in my case been given T4 and unable to convert it) will have a predisposition to chronic mitochrondrial defects which manifest as; Fatigue, Walking and Balance, Tremors, Twitching, Hair falling out, Cognitive function etc.

It didn't surprise me when he said "insufficient T3 demyelinates nerve axons" as I have been experiencing all of these!

I've just discovered (Bionetics hair test) that despite eating well I'm absorbing vitamins and minerals and Vit B1 in particular so I've switched to a liquid as I retrace my steps to correct a leaky gut.

Having watched this video I'll certainly be paying more attention to yoga balance exercises and gargling.

Wishing you Good Health and I appreciate you sharing,

mourneadventurer thank you so much for such an in depth, and easy to understand explanation, I will now try and get it through my foggy head and remember it all!

Hi Mourneadventurer.

I appreciate this post was 10 months ago so you may not see this but you have described me to a tee there!: "anyone who is chronically hypothyroid.. will have a predisposition to chronic mitochrondrial defects which manifest as; Fatigue, Walking and Balance, Tremors, Twitching, Hair falling out, Cognitive function etc."

Fatigue (my main issue) balance, twitching, hair falling out... all thing I'm suffering from Very much so. I was on levo but now on NDT and despite increasing to 4.5 grains I'm still struggling with these issues. But I tick all the boxes for still being hypo! At my wits end here.

I am considering ordering the Bionetics test, although it has very bad reviews. I'd be interested to know what changes you made as a results of your Bionetic results, and subsequenty how you are feeling 10 months on?

Thanks

Lee

Hello ExhaustedLee, unbelievable that this was 10 months ago!

Thankfully I found a Functional Nutritionist on Skype and I went onto an anti inflammatory Paleo, Gluten and Casein free diet. This helped enormously and testing indentified unwanted guests. Supplements were then pulsed and paced to eradicate. My stamina began to improve along with most of the other debilitating symptoms. Rebuilding my gut was crucial. Knowing exactly which unwanted guests I'd picked up I also enlisted the help of a Homeopath and take those remedies as well.

In retrospect what I've come to realise was that being on T4 alone for 28 years+ and not converting it to active T3 inside the cell was in effect allowing my immune system to become chronically overwhelmed; not helped because I had created an internal environment that made me susceptible to unwanted guests! I was unaware of all of this.

I'm now digging deeper and retesting to see what's still around. It'll also give me the opportunity to baseline for possibly gently detoxing accumulated heavy metals etc that have created the wrong internal environment.

Some stealth bacteria use biofilms and hide and protect themselves from our immune systems as well.

The initial tests that were invaluable were the vitamin D test at Sandwell and Birmingham hospital; 3 day stool test - Doctors Data; Organic acids test - Great Plains laboratory. I've since done others but these 3 put me back on track.

To summarise get rid of unwanted guests, build up your gut /immune system, balance your hormone system, be aware and keep learning. Test don't guess.

My balance is back to normal and I've just returned from a mountain walking holiday. Not fully fit yet but definitely now in 3rd gear instead of reverse.

I wish you well ExhaustedLee in your journey back to good health. Good Luck.
