Can someone explain my blood test results for my Graves Disease diagnosis, please?

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me my test results, please? I am still trying to get to grips with everything at the moment. I have been diagnosed with Graves' Thyrotoxicosis which I think is Graves Disease. I was initially on Carbimazole 40mg twice a day but I had a reaction so I am about to start it again but at 10mg once a day to see how I go. It will gradually be upped to 40mg which will then be followed by Levothyroxine at 75mg to commence in 6 weeks time.

Here are my results:

TSH <0.02

FT4 51.9

FT3 20.6

TBII 5.97

I have no clue what these mean, I would be so grateful if you could help me. Thank you so much

Well I never ever had my T3 checked and I'm not sure what TB11 is but your T4 and TSH are similar to what mine were when I was diagnosed with Graves a few years ago. I started on 20mcg carbimazole and was retested after a month. My T4 had improved but my TSH was still the same so my carbimazole was increased to 40meg a day. I had a few sore throats at the start, had a WBC test done and I was ok so next time I had swollen glands we decided to wait and see what happened - nothing!

I spent two months on 40mcg and by the time I got to actually meet my endo I was hypo. No fun at all so make sure that doesn't happen to you especially if you are taking 40mcg twice a day - that sounds a lot but I'm not medically qualified so I don't know for sure.

Think I started taking 50 mcg levothyroxine daily along with the 40mcg carbimazole. After a while I began to. Feel a bit hyper again but it turned out being a bit hypo can make you feel a bit hyper and once my levo was increased I felt a bit better, same thing happened next time I needed an increase. By the time I stopped my treatment I was alternating 75/100mcg levo along with the 40mcg carb.

Make sure your vitamin B12 is nice and high in its range and also your vitamin D and get your ferret and folates checked out too. Y want them all to be in the upper part of their ranges rather than at the lower end. Even if your doctors say that's fine.

When I starred my carbimazole my pharmacist told me to take vitamin C with them so I always took 1000mcg vitamin C with zinc.

My first question on this group was 'will I ever feel normal again?' And yes, I do so good luck to you. Make sure you get as much rest as you can, you are really quite ill even if you don't look it. Delegate as much as you can and only. Do what you want to do, not what you feel you *should* do.😊

Blocking TRAbs (also known as Thyrotropin Binding Inhibitory Immunoglobulins (TBII)) competitively block the activity of TSH on the receptor. This can cause hypothyroidism by reducing the thyrotropic effects of TSH. They are found in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease and may be cause of fluctuation of thyroid function in the latter. During treatment of Graves' disease they may also become the predominant antibody, which can cause hypothyroidism.
