What to test in blood - hashimoto

Hi again

It surprises me how active i have become on this forum since i first found it. So the situation now, after fights with u gp/endo is:

I am going back to my country to visit endo who diagnosed me just by looking on my usg and confirming with antibody test. It is very sad as i'm a citizen of Scotland.... Meantime i'm waiting for my usg in uk (last chance to persuade doctors)

Back to topic, I am one of those lucky ppl and my mother works in lab doing blood tests... In other words i can test myself on whatever i want.

To be ready for my visit my question is:

What exactly should i test, i need full list of things related to hashimoto, please share ur experiences.

Madness, is usg an ultrasound scan?

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOab) and thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb) are the Hashimoto antibody tests. Thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin(TSI) is for Graves. If you aren't restricted to what you order it may be worth ordering TSI too.

Desirable thyroid tests are:

TSH, FT4 & FT3

Reverse T3 (rT3)

FT3:rT3 ratio

I'm not sure how widely rT3 testing is outside of the USA. It's not usually tested by NHS.

Thx for quick responce, as usual reliable clutter. Yes usg is ultrasound scan, I thought this shortcut is common but mb not hehe.

What about vitamins etc. I want to have everything checked.

Madness, ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate. If vitamin A and vitamin E are on offer have them too

Alright is that all? Coz i am rarely in my country so i will not be able to do it very often and i will not be able to do it in uk.
