Hi and thanks for all your replies. Op went well as far as I know. Feeling very tired but that's because lack of sleep. So stitches out next Wednesday and I see my consultant in 4 weeks time. Feeling quite fragile, but its only to be expected I suppose.

Not sure how my graves disease will be, now that the toxic nodule has been removed.

I also forgot to ask how long do you wait for the nodule to be checked for cancer.

So everything up in the air still...until I get my results.

But glad to be home with my lovely cat bailey,. who is giving me lots of love.

So need to sleep and I will keep you all posted.

Thanks for all your good wishes I really appreciate everyone of them.

Goodnight

Brilliant to hear you are recovering well, I have been thinking of you.

Thanks Midnight, feels like everything was done so quickly, I have not had time to think. But may be too much thinking is dangerous lol

I feel I need to be positive to get me through the next stage.

Just received my appointment to see my surgeon on the 1st of September.

So should I be taking any extra vitamins or supplements?

Brenda you will be very glad to be home and rest and take it easy till you feel stronger. At least your cat will be glad you're home now.

Yes very happy to be home, Everyone was very kind in hospital but I never got any sleep, so need to recharge my batteries.

I should have asked about my meds but forgot, so I am still taking my 50mg propylthiouracil twice a day as my dose was reduced by half for damage to my liver, and propranol 160mg once a day.

Can't get any medical advice until Monday.

But reading a few posts on here has me wondering do I stop my meds all together to see if my half of thyroid will work on its own?

Wish I new all the answers to these questions, but I am new to thyroid disease, and feel overwhelmed with all the websites and books I am reading. That's why this site is so brilliant as most people on here have life experiences and are able to help in such a positive way.

Brenda if you copy and paste the above response about not getting medical advice until Monday and post on a new question. I myself think the hospital should have advised you but we can never know for sure. You will get responses from members who've gone through the same procedure.

A relief now that your operation is over and I do hope that the biopsy is clear of cancer. Cuddles with your cat sounds just what the doctor ordered for now. Plenty rest and relaxation. Take care and be kind to yourself until you are fully recovered.
