My GP says no test for adrenals is available where I live overseas. They don't test saliva. GP appeared unfamiliar with testing adrenals. Is there another way of testing other than saliva tests?
What supplement or support could I take for adrenal fatigue?
Can anyone help please.

Hello Adam10,
Where do you live?
Doctors usually test cortisol levels through a blood test often added onto your thyroid hormone blood test.
It is not wise to take adrenal supports without previously testing otherwise you won't know what issues might need addressing. There are many different adrenal supports and some quite powerful.
The saliva stress test is really easy to conduct so you could contact the private testing companies in the links below to ask if they will send a test abroad but I guess this depends on where you live.
I currently work in the Middle East. My local doctor would not test for cortisol as she said no indication it needed testing. However comments on this forum indicate I might need adrenal support.
I had my adrenals saliva-tested a year ago and results were ok but I suffered a big downward changed last October in my symptoms. I have not felt that well ever since.
They don't do salva tests here otherwise I would go to the labs again as last time.
Good adrenal health is especially important if taking thyroid meds because cortisol is needed to receive T3 from blood into cells where it is active (giving you energy). That is why people with high or low cortisol (poor adrenal health) often have T4 to T3 conversion problems.
Unfortunately thyroid issues stress the body putting strain on the adrenal glands which can further exacerbate problem.
