I think your doctor should treat your B12 as it is extremely low and can cause serious problems if deficient. Ask your GP to test for pernicious anaemia and if you don't have that you will have to supplement with vitamin B12 methylcobalamin sublingual tablets at a high dose. Your Vitamin D and ferritin also need treated.

Sawrajshruti, you are B12 deficient. Neurobion contains B1, B6 and B12. You will need to continue the injections until your B12 is over 711. If you are vegetarian or vegan your B12 deficiency will be due to dietary deficiency. B12 is only available from meat, fish and eggs, it can't be obtained from plant foods and vegetarians need to supplement. You will need to supplement methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges spray or patches when the injections stop to make up for the lack of dietary B12. If you are a meat eater B12 deficiency can be due to pernicious anaemia and your GP should test intrinsic factor and anti-parietal cells to confirm or rule out. Pernicious anaemia sufferers need lifelong B12 injections every 2 or 3 months as they don't produce B12.

TSH 1.31 is a little high for someone on Eltroxin. Most people are comfortable with TSH just above or below 1.0. Ask your GP to increase it to 75mcg which will boost your FT4 and FT4.

Tissue Transglutaminase IGA appears to be negative for coeliac disease but it isn't a reliable test and some people may be sensitive to gluten rather than intolerant to it. It may be worth trialling a 100% gluten-free diet for a few months. Many people find it helps manage Hashimoto's and can help reduce antibodies.

Ferritin 27 is low. Halfway through range is optimal. Supplement iron and take each tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation. Retest in 6 months. If you don't tolerate iron you may find this link interesting healthunlocked.com/thyroidu....

VitD 24.7ng/ml is insufficient. 50ng/ml is optimal. Supplement 5,000iu D3 daily and retest in 6 months.

grassrootshealth.net/

Low B12, ferritin, vitD cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms. When your vitamin and mineral levels are optimal you should feel much better.

Make sure you take Eltroxin 4 hours away from iron and vitamin D.

Shruti, good, 500mg D3 is 20,000iu so a decent dose. High dose vitC with iron will minimise constipation or buy the Cambodian Fish in the link.

As you also have extremely high antibodies I believe your dose of eltroxin is too low but others who know more than me will respond.

Thank you for the extra info, your antibody levels are very high, have you discussed with your GP about increasing the dose of Eltroxin, if you are unable to take any more Eltroxin then maybe acupuncture or battlefield acupuncture (great for pain and also, reduces antibodies)

Your Vitamin B, D & Ferritin certainly need looking at, they are very low. No wonder you are exhausted.

The pain in your legs, is that caused by fibromyalgia? if so it could be a sign you are under medicated.

Are you taking any supplements like Vitamin C, zinc etc

Best wishes

Hello Shruti,

I am glad you are having a multivitamin, if you do have an adrenal problem then plenty of Vitamin C will help, I am vegetarian as well, one thing I would say, please be careful on your intake of soya (this is found in the supermarket meatfree range, amongst other things)

Acupuncture is where you have little needles put in certain points of your body - this is benefical for lots of people, I did not find it helpful for me, that is why I tried battlefield acupuncuture - little needles that look like little gold studs, pushed into certain points in the ear, they are kept in three days and nights - that was amazing not only for the pain but it did reduce my antibodies - the only thing is the acupuncutre needs to be continued to keep the antibodies down - but that said is is great for while you are trying to get better.

Best wishes
