I have to avoid meat , chicken, Eggs, Milk, fish to control hives on my scalp. I am on t3 since last June and finding good improvement on energy level, sleep, mood etc. Can someone advise on the Hives and relationship to protien.

I'm wondering if you're not digesting your protein properly, so the body's seeing the poorly digested protein as an allergen? Protein can't be digested without sufficient hydrocholoric acid. So I'm wondering have you tried supplementing with digestive enzymes that include HCL? A course of digestive enzymes may help alleviate your sensitivity to these foods. Also supplementing with vitamin B6 and zinc helps your body make it's own digestive enzymes too. As we age our digestive enzyme production reduces. So it's common as we get older for digestive issues to arise. Also low HCL is common in thyroid disorders.

I agree with HEA72,

Food intolerance causes partially digested proteins (say from gluten, casein in milk and yeasts) to get into your bloodstream. These are not recognised as 'friendly' by your immune system which immediately sets up an inflammatory response.

Inflammation at the joints causes stiffness and Arthritis

Inflammation in the lungs or nasal passages: respiratory congestion, Asthma and cough

Inflammation at the skin can cause Hives, Eczema and Psoriasis.

You may find your body is more accepting of meat after a few months of excluding it from your diet.

Is that your picture or someone else? I have gotten odd skin issues since developing Hashimotos Disease. I avoid everything i came up positive for on my food sensitivities tests and have had another flare up due to horrible stress. I am no good with it..i just freak out.
