Following my last two posts where you were so helpful i now have my results as follows

PLease could you lovely people advise me what i need to do/increase upon before i visit my GP on Friday.

Also interseted to know if you think it is worth me trying NDT, which type, how i prepare before taking and finally where can i source by PM.

I have had symptons for all my adult life and been taking Levothyroxine for 9 years when diagnosed, have never felt better and feel it is last chance saloon to sort myself out and get out of this Fatigue/brain fog etc etc hell hole before old age sets in.

Thanks everyone x

Ju01749, your TSH is suppressed but your FT4 and FT3 are low in range so I hope your GP won't suggest reducing Levothyroxine to raise TSH. I think it might be helpful to ask for some Liothyronine (T3) to be added to raise your FT3. If your GP can't, or won't, self medicating T3 or NDT should be helpful.

B12 is very low. GP is unlikely to prescribe B12 as it is within range but you can buy supplements. I suggest 5,000mcg methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges, spray or patches for 6-8 weeks to build levels and maintain with 1,000mcg daily after. Take a B Complex to keep the other B vits balanced. Folate is good.

Your ferritin is below range which means you are likely to be iron anaemic. Your GP should prescribe iron. Take each tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation.

VitD is insufficient. Optimal is 75-200 and most people are comfortable with vitD 100. Your GP will probably prescribe tablets or capsules. Let us know how much and we'll tell you whether it is sufficient.

Iron and vitD must be taken 4 hours away from thyroid medication.

If you say how much Levothyroxine you are taking members will advise how to transition from T4 to NDT.

If your doctor prescribes ferrous sulphate and it gives you stomach problems you could try taking ferrous fumarate (210mg 3 times a day with 500-1000mg Vitamin C to prevent constipation if necessary).
