Any help please with my basic tsh and to results.

Just had awful doctors appointment which has reduced me to tears. Apparently all my symptoms are depression and my hair loss is part of getting older...I'm only 36!!!

Your TSH is high, your Ft4 low. Classic signs of being hypo. Pity your GP doesn't recognise the same :( I had similar results years ago with similar reaction from GP. You need to see an Endo. He will probably do thyroid antibody testing too. He's far more likely to recognise your symptoms/results.

Thank you. So I'm not going mad?? He did agree in the end to send me for antibody test which in his words is just so prove me wrong, if it comes back as anything other than normal he will eat his hat.

I'm so upset and just don't know where to turn to now.

He informed me my clicking joints and pain was from being inactive due to my so called depression.i informed him I am not inactive I work 33 hours a week and have 6 year old twins.

What on earth do I do now??

You're not going mad you just have a bad doctor.

What a load of b++++++s - hair falling out at 36 due to age!

Thank you bobs my dog.

I know, i just didn't know how to respond so cried and left feeling awful.

I don't know what to do next, I'm so angry part of me wants to change practice but it's local and handy and generally good GP for day to day things.

Can anybody advise of a good endo in the shropshire West midlands area at all?

And thank you for any replies, your all lovely and cheer me up

I know how you felt. Life shouldn't this hard but unfortunately for those of us with thyroid problems it often is. The trouble is that when we are ill we don't have the energy to fight and find solutions for ourselves. But do keep pressing on and with the wonderful help and support on this forum you'll get there!

Wally, it's your thyroid, not depression. Your TSH is high but your GP won't diagnose hypothyroidism until it is over range. Have your next thyroid blood test as early as possible in the morning and don't eat or drink (except water) before hand as TSH is high early and drops after eating.

Thank you Clutter great advice!

I intend to wait for my antibody results and then go back to a previous GP.

At the mo I'm taking vitamins to prime myself up and hope that will help with some symptoms in the long run.

I also have vitiligo which he admitted made me more prone to other auto immune probs.

I would love noting more to prove him wrong and provide a very large hat for him to eat :-)

Thanks all

Thank you all as ever.

I am anticipating the fact that my docs will do nothing more as technically I am in range.

What vitamins would people advise may help with symptoms?

I'm taking iron for anemia

B12 for general health and energy

Calcium with vit d for as above

Would d3 on its own be better or anything else I can try that may help

Wally, vit D3 without calcium would be better. Calcium suppléments are not good to take. But take a little magnesium, vit K2 and zinc with your vit D3. They all work together.

Take a B complex with your B12, for preference with methylfolate rather than folic acid.

Take lots of vitamin C with your iron to improve absorbtion and make it easier on your tummy.

Make sure you consume lots of fats and salt. Your adrenals need them to make hormones and to function correctly. :)

Thank you so much. I've placed an order on Amazon!

Fats and salts? I've still so much to learn!

☺😊
