Finger-prick thyroid test (ZRT, Blue Horizon, MediChecks) - any others?

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but for someone who struggles to give blood, I've found a couple of finger-prick thyroid tests. Interested in whether anyone has used these and if there's any others?

I've not had any luck getting the NHS to organise any detailed testing, despite prolonged and serious hypothyroid symptoms, so have had to organise it myself. I've ordered the ZRT test to try and cover everything off in one go!

Cheers,

Mark

Mockendo, a lot of members use Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... using the TUK discount code and a couple have used Medichecks recently.

Thanks for the link, discount codes are always handy! I've used Genova for a couple of other things and they've always been pretty quick getting results back.

Cheers,

Mark

I've used Blue Horizons three times, very pleased with them.

Also used City Assays for my vitamin D twice - you'll find them on the TUK site. They're very good too. Order by phone - prick your finger, dab blood onto the spots marked on the card then send it off and get the results back by email a few days later.

I've used Medichecks twice, their £59 thyroid profile TSH, FT4 and FT3. I found the finger prick test easy and the turnaround for the results was fast. I highly recommend them.

Awaiting results from Blue Horizon at the moment. I think they are a really good company to deal with.

I've used ZRT once. It seemed very good & sensitive. Alerted me that I was developing Hashi's and other hormone issues such as low progesterone, low testosterone and low DHEA.

Quick update:

the ZRT results were emailed back to me about a week after they received the samples (overnight with FedEx from the UK to USA). Service has been excellent, and results are retrieved from their website. The reports are very clear with optimal ranges shown by age-group etc. Also included (in the price) a doctors review of the results - I had a couple out of range, mainly T3, so this was particularly helpful.

Also, I see that Myrios do some finger prick test, I'm thinking about using them for B12 & folate. Anyone got any experience of them? Only thing is they don't seem to sell them online, I think I need to request a pharmacy to get them in...
