I have Hashimoto's and I am currently taking Naturethroid. I would like to know if anyone like me has been taking it past 3 years with good results?

Thank you. I am feeling so much better now that I am on it-Naturethroid...and I just never, ever want to go back to Levo again. I strongly believe its toxic.

My concern is that I have read it works for about 2-3 years and then Hashis antibodies reject it:(

??

Thank you so much. I would love to find out if there is anything out in there in writing about this? Or if anyone has had a similar experience?

I told my husband I believe there will be a lawsuit against the sythetic. I pray justice will prevail!!

You've got to be joking! A law suite? Who could afford to attack Big Pharma? None of the poor miserable sods whose lives have been ruined by synthetic T4, that's for sure! And no-one else cares! I've been on other forums where it's been discussed that we should all band together to sue them, but it never happens. Needs someone with more energy than a hypo to get things off the ground! lol

As to NDT, it's the same as any other form of thyroid hormone replacement - suits some, doesn't suit others. I never felt well on it, and I took it for more than three years. But can't give you détails because I lost a whole chunk of my memory about that time, it's all very vague. But I think I took it for about six years. Why didn't I give up before then if it wasn't doing me any good? Because it made me so bad that I couldn't think for myself! And everyone was telling me to persist because it was THE best. C**p! What's best is what suits you. If NDT suits you, stick with it, and Don't bother with what other people are doing. If it doesn't suit you after a few months, find something else. It's all trial and error. :)

So you could be a great doctor...how about a lawyer??

We could fight, but we would need to find several excellent lawyers who could relate and would care...

greygoose in reply to Enfrance

Exactly! We need hypo lawyers! But I've never met one of them. Perhaps there's something about the make-up of lawyers that means they Don't get hypo...

But having said that, I have always thought I would make a great lawyer, with my sharp, analytical brain and my love of arguing! lol Ahhhhh... I missed several of my callings! Never mind, I caught several others. :)

Oh, sweetie! I'm 70. It would take me so long to study that I'd have to go to court in a Wheel chair! Like whatshisname... it's on the tip of my tongue... large bloke... tv series... Probably before your time! lol

But it would be a bit too late for our cause by then! Hopefully, things will have changed anyway.

But I've never wanted to be a doctor. All those dead bodies? Berk! Not my scene at all!

lol Flattery will get you everywhere! But I'm still not going to study to be a lawyer! Too many other things to do. :)

Yes... but I'll have forgotten about it by tomorrow. lol

Start another thread 'Is there a lawyer in the house???' And then work on them. :)

No, he was a writer, not an actor. :)

Sorry. Maybe it was Burke then. Brain not too quick-thinking as making changeover to Nature Throid, but think it will eventually be better.

lol

Nooooooooo it wasn't Iron Man - that's modern, Robert Downey Jr :) No, it was Ironside! With Raymond Burr.

Bonanza, Emergency Ward 10! Maybe they weren't that good as I can't remember any more.

Eight years for me. First Armour until it was reformulated, and since then ERFA, which since last year seems to be causing me problems.

The $64,000 questions is, is it the reformulation of these NDT's that causes some people problems, or it is an auto-immune issue, in the case of those of us with Hashimotos? I'm currently trying to get my endo to change me to Westhroid (well at least, I have been for the last year now).

What about Naturethroid? I just read this..

Although I didn't get on with NDT at all, the one I liked best out of the whole lot was Thiroyd. Didn't feel quite so awful on that!

This thread made me laugh. And yeah, Grey, you would make an excellent doctor or lawyer. You're so smart! We do need some hypo lawyers who really understand. If a court reporter is ever needed, they got one -- Me! LOL I'm with Grey, they are a unique breed for sure.

I'm with you Grey, whatever works go with it. I'm am still trying to figure out if this Nature Thyroid is working for me. I was on Armour and I loved it and was doing so well on it until I couldn't get my shipments any longer, then came off my meds altogether ((((don't ever recommend that to anyone)))) and now on NT. I feel myself getting stronger but then it slams me back to the ground. I want to feel the way I felt when I was on Armour but I am hoping in time that will happen. I am giving it time. Do you think if I give it a full year that is enough time to know for sure if it's working??? I lost my energy, more than half my hair, dry skin, and nails broke and I knew my body wasn't functioning right and wanted to sleep all the time, and super cold all the time even when warm out lol. I cant ell you with being on NT for almost four months now that my nails are starting to grow and some of my hair has come back but it's not back the way it used to be. I am hoping over time I can be at my best. I feel my body absorbing the NT and then wham, it kicks me to the ground again. But I was kicked to the ground all the time before, so it is getting better. Time will tell!!!

I, too, was on Levo and it helped me when I first started taking it and then it didn't. What works for one person might not work for another. We all are different. But I do, however, like to hear feedback with these different meds.

I am in my 40's and this all makes me want to be a doctor and specialize in this to help people. Looking back I had this my whole life and hindsight is so much clearer and I wish I had a doctor find this for me when younger as my life would have been different. But I'm very blessed to know now so I can not struggle like I did my first part of my life. There are people out there that are not being diagnosed with this and struggling and being prescribe depression meds and it truly is sad. I wonder how our world would be if people were helped and at their best. I think it would be a more loving world.

I love you guys!!!! Debber

I am glad that you are feeling better! I have been on Naturethroid for 3 weeks now. It is soon, but even though I still have some symptoms, it has been a night and day difference thus far.

I am still in the beginning stage as to increasing slowly based on symptoms.

I hope once I get closer to the right dosage, my weight will drop some and stabilize.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

Back atcha...feel the love. Ha, ha.😘

Hi, I was on Thiroyd for a few years, then couldn't get it any more. It was supposed to be similar to Armour Thyroid. When I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto's the GP put me on Levo, but that just made me feel really ill, didn't work for me at all. I had to support my adrenals which helped a lot. Two and a half years ago I went to see a private holistic doctor as my body felt really out of balance and he prescribes Erfa for me, which seems to be working quite well. So, I have been taking natural thyroid meds for about eight years now, and feel a lot better on them.

Thank you very much. Your feedback is very helpful!!😄

Thank you, sweetie, but you're preaching to the choir! I've been saying the exact same thing for many years!

But I can tolerate T3 perfectly well. I'm doing fine on it! It's just T4 - whether synthetic or natural - that I can't tolerate. I just tell people my story so they can draw their own conclusions.

I'm not saying anyone should take NDT and I'm not saying anyone shouldn't. What I always say is that it's always a case of try it and see. If you Don't try it, you'll never know! And that goes for Levo, as well.

I swear Levo is handied out like candy...so if you ever change your mind just let me know. I have plenty of leathal, toxic bon bons for you. Ha,ha.

The other day when I went to the pharmacy they offered me more Levo and I had to hold myself back from yelling no bloody no! Of course, this was after my ordeal of getting my hands on the Naturethroid. Shew.

If you feel good on what you are taking, I feel good!😄😘

greygoose profile image
greygoose in reply to Enfrance

Well, no, levo isn't handed out like candy. A lot of people have a great deal of trouble getting diagnosed and being prescribed Levo. But it's their go-to solution because it's the only one they know about. How many times have I been told by pharmamcists that Cynomel and Levo are the same thing?!? They just Don't know anything about it.
