Naturethroid to thyroid-s

Hi I have ordered thyroid - s, currently been taking nature throid, 3 grains which I take all at once when I go to bed. Does anyone have any idea how best to change over? Should I just directly switch? or are there differences?

Just switch, Lelole. Thyroid-S contains 38mcg T4 and 9mcg T3 the same as NT.

ndt is supposed to be taken in a split dose, not all at once - because the half life of t3 is shorter than t4.

That isn't true for everyone -- we are so individual in our responses -- hence the need for T3/T4 combo for some, but not all. For me, after years of split dose on T3 -- I tried taking all at my T4 & T3 upon waking and have been very stable (& sleeping well) ever since.

May I ask why you're changing from Naturethroid to Thyroid S? I did the same and felt dreadful on it so went back to NT. Would be interested to know how you get on.

Hi - I am swapping over for a few reasons - I tend to use (1) an international pharmacy because I find that (2) the other is much more expensive and (1) doesn't seem to attract post office/vat fees and delays. But they are often out of stock so I have had a few close shaves. I can't afford to keep buying it especially at (2) prices. Also (1) is in Vanuatu so who knows how that will affect their business... But worried really, don't want to change but cannot see what else to do
