Probably not, but we can but try! We seem to be 'very trying' to most medical staff.
It took quite awhile to get that you meant to be funny. I actually thought that maybe you might have Dyslexia and how funny it was that you posted about it!!! I am really brain dead.
Me too ! I have a good friend who is dyslexic and her two children. One went to a special boarding school for dyslexic children and ended up taking drugs. Her life has been one continuous cycle of alcohol and drug abuse. A very beautiful person. I had often mentioned thyroid to my friend - and it was only at her most recent treatment centre that it was tested. She is now on T4. I need an update - thanks for the reminder....
You're welcome! Reading all the posts on here, I think an awful lot of hypos are dyslexic. Sometimes one Doesn't even notice that one's made a mistake. But I do spend an awful lot of time correcting my posts because of my dyslexia.
...you would never know you were dyslexic . I find some interesting words appear due to typos and often want to leave them 
If you use Firefox you can get a dictionary add-on that highlights the words it doesn't recognise, and if you right click on the misspelled word it offers alternatives. If words are missing from the dictionary you can add them. I would hate to be without my Firefox dictionary because it cuts down on so many of my own mistakes.
Looking at the first piece on the link I think I may have found the explanation for the 'growing pains' that I was diagnosed with as a child....

Oh yes! Growing pains! I'd forgotten about them. It always seemed weird to me that it would hurt to grow. And why didn't everybody have them? Why just me? I think being hypo must have caused me to develope my inquiring mind, always wanting to know why...
I also had a mysterious illness when I was about 8 - polio was around and the girl next door had rheumatic fever. Fortunately I didn't have either but was in bed. Previously Mum and I went out for the day on a coach trip from the village. A street photographer snapped us and when we went back to collect - Mum said I didn't look well in the picture I felt ghastly but didn't want to say anything and spoil her rare day off away from the farm. Still have the photo - long skinny legs and a puffy face - sound familiar !! - yes I do look awful !

Well, I haven't seen it before, so I Don't know. First time I've ever seen dyslexia cited as a hypo symptom. And I'm so happy!!! lol

Recently learned my 6yr g.daughter is dyslexic ,hope not hypo!
Also I read somewhere thyroid is linked with Asperger's, ADHD and Tourettes.
On one forum site I spotted two tourette's persons talking about how better their ticks were since supplementing with T3, (I believe they both had Hypothyroidism, but don't quote me.)
Well, I knew there was a link between ADHD and thyroid but it's interesting about Asperger's... And Tourettes? Well, I never! The more we learn, the more it would seem that the thyroid is responsible for everything! Directly or indirectly.
dare I say that when unwell the thyroid failsafe will kick in to stop all adverse activity?
- usually waiting for springtime & a decent meal - conversely thyroid slowing down activity slows everything including nutrient absorption & allsorts ensue - hence poulet et l'œuf! J x
I also read that experts are connecting Child Obesity to Thyroid, but then that could apply to adults too.
Well, yes. And so obvious I'm surprised it needs to be said! When will they reaslie taht we are the real 'experts', and listen to us?!?
There are good days and there are bad days. And on a bad day it takes me ages to write a post because I keep having to go back and correct my dyslexic words!
Add me to the list. I was hiding it for years thinking I was a real idiot. Got tested when I was like 40. When I spell something right I think it looks wrong. I am always asking my husband how to spell things must drive him nuts LOL to bad almost married 30 years......Thanks for the post greygoose so many things in common.xoxo Susita
lol I use Google search. Just type in a word and it will tell you if it's wrong. Some days I'm ok, but some days, no matter how I move the letters around, it still looks wrong. Sooooo Dr Google - doctor in so many ways. Much quicker than looking in a dictionary, and I live with my Spanish dog. His spelling is worse than mine!

I have always been very good at spelling, right from primary school..................but, I have noticed lately that my keyboard appears to be getting dyslexic!
I always see very enquiring minds... I wonder....
