Symptoms through the roof

Thought I was going crazy again with paraesthesia, tiredness , depression again .Just got blood results back. Tsh 9.28 t4 11.4 . Haven't spoken to doc yet im currently taking 20 mcg t3 and 100 levo.

Fion, either T4 or T3 needs increasing. Make sure a follow up blood test is scheduled 6/8 weeks after the increase because you may need further increases until TSH is just above/below 1.0.

Have you started medication or supplements recently which may be interfering with your absorption of thyroid meds?

Yes started taking setraline for anxiety and I just happened to look at the notes that come with them and it said it might interfere with the thyroid so I asked for blood tests as I felt awful.

How is your B12 - VitD - Ferritin - folate - Iron ?

As you can see B12 is implicated in many neurological symptoms. It can also affect mood/anxiety. Also Low D causes lots of problems - almost every cell in the body has a receptor for T3 and D3 so that's an awful lot of both

Fion, try taking Sertraline and Levothyroxine at opposite ends of the day. If Sertraline is affecting absorption of Levothyroxine your Levothyroxine dose will have to be increased until your TSH is around 1.0.

Doc's wouldn't give me any other test than thyroid.
