Advice needed-Iron/Ferritin.

Hi everyone,

Got diagnosed with underactive thyroid approx 1 year ago and have been progressing well on thyroxine and currently on a relatively stable dose of 150mg. Feeling slightly over at the moment with a raised heart rate and huge appetite! but waiting for blood test results at the moment.

I have regularly asked at blood tests to get my ferritin checked due to advice received on here. It has been wavering around 50-70 but in my most recent it was 31 (11-370) . I know it needs to be a lot higher than this both generally and with regards to hypothyroidism and the absorption of meds.

I was wondering what advice any of you can give me about the best ways to increase iron. What do you do and what has helped? there are so many iron supplements out there just not sure what is best for me etc.

Thank you all

I think I have tried prescription iron before and didn't get on that well with it. Do you recommend anything I can buy in shops ? Any supplements that are good?
