Latest TSH results since I started taking NDT 3 months away.

Got print out. It said thyroxine replacement appears ok.

Serum TSH level. below range, 0.05 mu/L (0.35 - 5.0 ) outside reference range.

Serum free T4 level 13.6 pmol/l ( 7.00-20-0)

My TSH levels before I started NDT was 0.68 (0.35 -5.0)

Only time I had serum Free T4 tested was when I had private test with Blue Horizon in march this year.

Free T4 21.7 pmol/L ( 12 -22 ) Free T3 4.2 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8 )

TSH 0.900 mu/L ( 0.270 - 4.200)

The dr just said tests were fine.

Would appreciate any comments on whether these results look good or not so good.

Joan, the T3 in NDT lowers TSH and FT4 so TSH 0.05 and FT4 13.6 look fine to me too. It doesn't look like you were converting well on T4 so hopefully the T3 in NDT will have improved your FT3.

Thankyou Clutter. I do feel a lot better since taking NDT. I just expected the Dr to query why TSH was suppressed.

Hi reallyfedup, I'm feeling so much better on NDT. Just wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. Weighed myself the other day, lost over half a stone since I started it, without even trying. Mind you, feeling rough at moment with cold,cough, very chesty.Can't taste food, but a certain make of Italian chocolates are going down a treat mmmmm!!
