Since being diagnoised with an underactive thyroid in May 2012 and getting to a dose of 125 of Levo daily I periodically suffer with a croaky voice!! My ears feel and sound fussy the back of my throat feels dry and I ache all over abit like flu!! Most of the time I get on with it sometimes like now I'm on my 2nd week off work!! GP did say would have increased meds to help immune system but I'm on enough and it's a virus!!
I have asked about T3 and antibody test but have got nowhere with it!! I have had a frozen shoulder which I've had an op on!! Feel like I'm falling apart no one will listen!!
Apparently it's nothing to do with the thyroid!! Never suffered with the throat thing before thyroid diagnoised!!

Sarah, can you post your recent thyroid results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) and members will advise whether you are optimally medicated.
95% of hypothyroidism is caused by autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) so you could assume that is the reason for yours and try a gluten-free diet for 3 months to see whether your symptoms improve or you can order an autoantibody test and FT3 from Blue Horizon or Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...
Ask your GP to test ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate as hypothyroid patients are often deficient/low and these deficiencies can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms. Post your results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) in a new question and members will advise whether supplementation is required.
