They should make sure the patient wants a jab before the give it.

When ever we've had a flu jab we've been given a form to sign beforehand.

I've just been asked - don't know if they give a form if you agree.

in reply to shaws

Sorry Shaws ...my reply should have gone to Sue11.......I was just stating what happens at our surgery, which would make it unlikely that we could have it done without knowing what we were doing.

I have had the flu jab for over 12 years and never been given any form, they have just asked if I suffer from any allergies, to which I answer no and they give me the jab. By making the appointment and then turning up I guess it is a form of consent to the flu jab. Also just had my second covid vaccine , answered the questions they asked and had the vaccine, again consent given by being there.

Tell him you'll trust your GP when your GP is trustworthy! I've never met one that is.

And, believe me, we do know more than most GPs!

You told him you don't want it and he did it anyway? I believe that is called 'assault'.

Kind of like rape.....'no means no'....

They do it cos they get paid for it. They don't get paid for treating folks with thyroid. Moral of the story avoid the GP during flu jab season, "assaults" are becoming too common. I mentioned on here the other day what happened to my friend when she went to have her ears syringed! Funny way to syringe the ears LOL

I received a letter from GP inviting me to attend for flu jab because I fell into one of the categories on their list.

I didn't fall into any of the categories and felt like asking was there something about my health that I hadn't been told about. I decided not to bother, save my breath for something more important!

I get a letter every year saying 'it's time for your flu jab, you didn't have it last year!' Well, actually, I've never had it. And never will have it!

The letter goes on to say 'if you have concerns about this jab, talk to your GP, he will be able to reassure you.' Yes, like I'm going to believe a man that tells me women don't need testosterone, and magnesium is of no importance to your health! I don't think so.

I'd like to see any doctor come at me with a needle after I'd said no. He would be the one ending up getting the jab! When I was younger, I probably would have rammed it up his you-know-what, but I'm not that agile, these days.

Seriously, Sue, I would just walk out. As gabkad said, that amounts to assault. Have you considered going to the police?

Hugs, Grey
