Hi, has anyone heard of this. As far as I can gather its minerals, vitamins, anti oxidants, amino acids, and enzymes.

Possibly also called Phd7.

Supposed to be all natural stuff.

Cheers M

Like most of these products, they say everything you want to read, but reading a bit further leaves you questioning what they are saying.

virilityhealth.com/greens-f...

I can't get their numbers to add up.

They leave you to do the arithmetic to work out what this means "42 times the vitamin B6 of bananas". Is that a lot of B6? Seems that 128g of banana (officially a medium banana) contains 0.4mg of B6. Barley grass powder (I assume) contains 42 times as much - so that is 16.8g. But you are only consuming 4.22g of it - which works out as 0.6mg. So not such an amazing amount.

Similarly - work through the figures for calcium, vitamin A, etc. Actually, is that vitamin A as vitamin A or, more likely, as its precursor beta-carotene? If the latter, well it seems to be conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A that is impaired in those who are hypothyroid.

All in all, it might be wonderful but I haven't got the time or inclination to go through it all to work out what it provides. I think I would need to ask several questions because the information isn't there. And remember that it won't contain some important substances like B12.

We bought this stuff when it first came out in the 1990s. Tastes awful but if you have constipation, probably this stuff is really good for colon health. It's got lots of soluble fibre. Not all bad.

No harm, no foul. It's been around for ages and there's all sorts of different variants (at least here there are). If you are not eating lots of vegetables and fruit, then it's not a bad thing. Given how long it's been available and it still sells like hotcakes, there must be an awful lot of people who feel it benefits them. Just don't rely on it for your vitamins. We can have problems with the gut microbiome and this product promotes gut health. There is something to be said for good bowel function.

Will have a think about it Gabkad. Have just had b12 boosters and am on iron tablets so wouldn't rely on it for vitamins.

Thank you Pp
