Can anyone give any suggestions as to where I may be able to find a private endo in the south east area? I'm quite upset that, although my current NHS endo always ends the appointment with "I will see you in 2 months" I never actually get my next appointment until about 4 months. I have suffered with thyroid problems for approximately 4 years; being hyperthyroid for around 2 years which then resolved only to be diagnosed with hypothyroidism a year later. I have been on Levothyroxine for around 18 months (125mg) but my endo is still trying to find the exact correct dose for me. recently I have been feeling pretty poorly but to make matters worse I have just received a letter from my endo saying my next appointment has been cancelled and I now need to wait an additional month, hence my frustration wishes to go private! Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

I would ask your GP to refer you to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. I was with another Endo at a different hospital and 18 months later I was still in the same situation. Felt dreadful, massive weight gain, exhausted and had been taken off thyroxine. I asked my GP to give me a referral to Addenbrookes as it was taking to long to get my health back. I was referred last April. Lots of tests undertaken and I think fingers crossed I am almost back to normal. They have treated me by symptoms and although thyroid bloods have been done T4 and T3, FT4 and FT3 they have always gone by how I have been feeling even when bloods have said otherwise. Great hospital!
Bonkers, email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of recommended endos.
If you want advice on your thyroid bloods and whether you are optimally medicated post a new question with your recent results and the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) and say how much Levothyroxine you are taking.
