Denise,

The main question is 'how do you feel'? Well or not so well. Do you have symptoms - aches/pains etc etc. Are you energetic and lead a normal life?

What you have to do next week, if you haven't had your thyroid gland checked for a while is to make an appointment to have a new blood test. Ask for a Full Thyroid Function test and they may do more than just the TSH.

Have your test as early as possible and do not take medication before, take it after the test. If you take a bedtime dose, miss this and take after test. Also ask GP to test Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate if you've not had this done within a year.

From now on always get a copy of your blood tests and they must have the ranges for your own records and if you have a query to post for members to comment with the ranges.
