Frustrated to say the least!
I'm British, lived abroad for 7 years and while 'away' I find I am hypo, B12 insufficient, D deficient & pre-diabetic. It's a LONG story, and I won't bore, but below is the 'short' version.
Many years of pain/frustration/fog/tears/research/reading/web forums/doctors/endocs/£ (the list could go on) - you all know what I mean. Only for ME to to find out what is wrong with me, and for me to ask a doctor for ERFA.
It took time, but I got what my body needed.
I used to get a script and have them shipped into the Country I lived in.
Years go bye, 3 Endocs (3 different countries) I've lost count of doctors, and as for bloody tests....I'm surprised I have any blood left in my veins!
I return to the UK......NIGHTMARE
The doc refuses to give me a prescription for ERFA as he 'cannot' BUT if I wait for 7 weeks 1 day (I've book my apt this afternoon, and yes, it's the earliest!) an Endoc might give me a script....MIGHT!? It's ok though he can give me Levoxine. You mean the stuff that doesn't work on me, hence why I take ERFA? A shrug of his shoulders said it all.
The doc has seen my meds, knows I take the med, I have been for blood tests, yet he 'cannot' give me a script! By the time I get to see said 'MIGHT' Endoc, I am out of meds.
I come home, upset, I start the research AGAIN. It read, he could give me the script on a 'named-patient basis'
Has anyone else come across or know of this, if so any advice?
Also, as I refuse to go what I can only describe as HELL again, I am now looking for a private Doc or Endoc who can/will provide me with a script for my meds. Does or can anyone PM me if they know anyone within the NW of England? If someone does know of a Doc/Endoc and he/she isn't within the NW, please still share with me. I am willing to travel.
Recommendations for doctors &/or where to obtain Erfa via private messages in line with posting guidelines #22 and #24 please, thank you, Clutter
