i just cant believe this roller coaster of ill health, after almost 1 year of having my tt still medication not right, frozen shoulder still very pain full, still 3 stone overweight, still have aches and pains and muscle cramps, rosacea, vitiligo, and fungal infections on skin, very low pulse sometimes 45 and less, now experiencing stomach upsets and diarrhoea. taking 125 micro of levo, endo only prescribes 100 micro and next blood tests will only test tsh, feeling sorry for myself as i was really sold on the take one tablet and all will be well, they should not be allowed to make these statements as for many of us having a tt is only the start of more health issues.

Change your doctor or whoever is supposed to be caring for you. They sound, to me, very negligent. Your pulse alone is only 45bpm. No wonder you have problems. I think you may well be undermedicated.

I am sorry that you appear not yet to be properly medicated. It's not right that those performing operations do not tell you the full story and what the pros and cons are. Someone who has had a tt will respond.

If you can get a copy of your latest thyroid gland blood test results, with the ranges, and post for comments.

It can be an uphill battle but members will do their best to support and advise how to try to recover your health.

If you've not had a blood test for a while, make appointment with GP and ask for a full thyroid function test plus Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. Hopefully they will doT3 but if they don't you can have it done privately.

Don't take your medication before your blood test which should be done as early as possible a.m. If you take your meds at bedtime, miss this dose. Take medication after your blood test.

Tatty, sadly many of us have been where you are now. It definitely sounds as though you are under medicated and blood tests will reveal that. You may also benefit from adding T3 to Levo but wait a bit until you do that, because you may want to try an increased dose of Levo first, to see if that helps. If not, then this dose will automatically be reduced when you add T3, so you want it to be at an optimum level before the reduction.

I suffered all the infections, aches and weird fungal problems that you describe, when my dose was too low. Try not to despair, get the blood tests, review your supplements, especially iron and post your results for more help. There is definitely more that can be done, including trying NDT. Things will slowly get better.

Hi last month tsh 0.49 (.350-5.50) t4 1.24 endo decreased my levo from 125 micro to 100micro, but i still take 125 micro so he will not agree to up my dose of levo, and i dont understand that my next appointment in Nov he will only test tsh, he just does not listen to whatever i say.

I read somewhere recently that more people die of iatrogenic diseases than all other diseases put together ... I used to trust my GP, who put me on oral contraceptives, then HRT for more years than is now considered safe, then Levo, then statins, then aspirin, beta blockers, and something else for high blood pressure. Meds were just increased incrementally as my symptoms got worse and worse, then I developed arrhythmia, and some of my meds said DO NOT STOP TAKING THESE UNLESS YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU.

The last couple or three years my health has deteriorated so much that until I decided to take matters into my own hands and started to get a clear head, I had not realised how ill and aged this cocktail of medications has made me. My family thought I was ageing so fast there must be something seriously wrong with me. I woke up and realised I can't trust my GP, or any GP because the whole medical profession is in the hands of Big Pharm. Between them and because of my naive trusting nature, my whole endocrine system has been f***d up. I have started to do my own historical research into how various home remedies have worked in the past, and also how naturopaths tackle 'diagnosing' and getting to root causes - my plan is to find a naturopath who is willing to discuss the rationale for treatment with me, get me what tests (lab tests) I want, and work with me on food choices.

I'm withholding information from my GP while I let her have my latest blood tests done, and when I've got that set of results in my hand, I will start with that as my baseline and get the information, diet and supplements I really need to support my body in healing itself, instead of just treating symptoms (which is all the GP has tried to do). I'm not going to bother trying to educate the medical profession - they've poisoned me. I'm sacking them.

So sorry you feel like this, I am too fed up with it. I too thought one years and this will be nailed, I'm not a push over, but it seems they have demoralised me so much I feel useless now. These 'professionals' doubting my symptoms and condition really puts me down.

I have read all the comments below and really feel for everyone. I agree with Frogandprincess, I'm at sacking point too.

We have a battle to fight and you must stand your ground. It's your health - take charge of it.

Please keep us posted, read and chat on here, it really helps.
