I am hoping to go and see Dr Barry Peatfield but am concerned about the possible implications of having to pay privately for medicines going forward. I have read marvellous things about him and I would really appreciate any feed back if anyone has seen him. Please message me privately. Many thanks

Anyone had a direct experience with Dr Peatfield?
Dr Peatfield is highly experienced in thyroid gland dysfunctions. He himself is hypothyroid and also studied at the Broda Barnes Foundation in the USA. If you borrow (from Thyroiduk.org) or buy from Amazon, Tears Behind Closed Doors, it is a great book.
Dr Peatfield was hounded like Dr Skinner by the GMC and resigned his medical licence rather than maybe being struck off. He therefore cannot prescribe medications but may advise.
The great thing about Dr P is that he teaches you to monitor and take control of your own health. I saw him and followed the protocol. His team are excellent and they too can help after your appointment if you have a problem. At the same time I was learning about B12 VitD etc on this forum - so it's a perfect combination.....
Don't think twice. After years of being in the dark about the Thyroid Dr P. showed me the light. His book is well worth a read also and will help make sense of a lot of things that you have no doubt experienced.
Thank you all so much for your replies, very reassuring, I am already taking my daily temperature and pulse in readiness for my appointment with him. Roll on next Monday!
