Ok, just wondered if anybody in your family or yourself had history of blood clots, as there are many people out there taking both! MaryF

Any diarrhea or loose motions accompanying taking warfarin? If so, even spasmodically, this could excrete more thyroxine or T3 and your thyroid may not respond quickly enough. If on T4 therapy, then this loss could be enough to tip you into hypothyroidism. There are alternatives to warfarin that are easier to take and don't need regular blood clotting tests - but they are more expensive, though NICE has recommended them. One is called dabigatran (Pradaxa) - there are some related similar drugs. There are people who cannot use warfarin because they cannot maintain a steady level, they are unusual but the above drug seems to work better.

Do you take the thyroxine and warfarin together? have you tried taking them at different times? Does that make a difference?
