Dear All Very sample I need Eltroxin 50 microgram tablets.Goldshield. I am using from 3 years ago and now It's not available in Egypt.
Please be aware that this answer is from what I know in the UK. I don't know whether it will apply in Egypt.
The company Goldshield renamed itself as Mercury Pharma about two or so years ago. Slowly their products have been re-branded as Mercury Pharma. I suspect that most of that has been done now and the few things that still say Goldshield are stock that is in distribution.
Eltroxin is simply a branded form of levothyroxine (or L-thyroxin, or thyroxine).
The product Eltroxin from Mercury Pharma has not been available in the UK for about 18 months. Mercury Pharma say it will be available again in the future but we do not know when that will be. (We see that it is still available in the Republic of Ireland.)
Mercury Pharma say that their product "Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine" is almost identical to their Eltroxin product. (There is a very slight difference between them in the 50 microgram tablet but only in the non-active ingredients.) As of July 2014 the two products will be absolutely 100% identical.
If all you need is a 50 microgram levothyroxine product, I'd be surprised if there are not alternative makes available.
If you see Eltroxin made by any other company, such as Aspen, it will be levothyroxine, but it will have different inactive ingredients.
