My GP has diagnosed Myxeodema eight weeks ago. I know myx means a particular problem with mucin and associated pathologies, but do GP's use it as a general term for Hypo as I was wondering if I am in fact Hashi?
He did not tell me what thyroid issues and I was ignorant about the variations at the time. He just said he just said I was very low (as in not very hypo) and he would start me on a low burn of 25 mcg Levo.
First blood results:
TSH: 4.28 mIU/L range (0.27 - 4.20)
Free Triodothyronine 4.1 pmo/l (442u.00 Serum T3) range (3.9 - 6.7)
Free T4, 10.4 pmol/L range ( 12.0 - 22.0)
I changed to NDT before seeing him about my follow up blood draw in eight weeks, results should be out next week.
I also wondered if I have OD'd on the NDT because over the last three days I have returning increasing (and lengthening) attacks of transient, extreme whole body muscle contraction and stiffness, easing off to lower levels of milder symptoms for rest of the day. Waking with more stiffness and pain. Tinnitus and dizziness raised as well as fatigue and muscle and joint pain, numbness and occasional burning, in general. Not aware of higher pulse rate ...will check shortly. Will ask for retest of B12, ferritin and iron, last test 14 months ago and lab refused to do D3. Dosage - Self raised up to 2.5 grains NDT over 6 weeks.
Any comments gratefully recieved
