Feeling symptoms but blood levels normal?

I've been hypothyroid for 4 years. Up and down at times and my Levo I was prescribed has been adjusted a few times (up and down). I've recently felt awful, notably foggy headed, unable to concentrate, achy, basically what I felt pre-diagnosis. I got a blood test which was normal! GP won't do anything for me even though I feel terrible. Won't refer me as my levels are normal! What can I do apart from go private? I've already asked for all my blood test results from the past 4 years. I'm based in East Sussex.

Thanks!

What were your T4 levels like ?- the T4 and T3 levels are the important markers, not the TSH as you probably know. I went private to a Doc in Winchester - he does have a clinic in Chichester - £168 for first Consultation + £68 for follow ups - dont give up!! XX

Hi! My T4 and T3 were in the normal range apparently :-( requesting all my prior results to compare! The docs don't seem to have a clue about this condition, just go by your bloods and if "ok" they won't offer you any help!

You need to see your results. GPs are too quick to consider TSH high in range and FT4 and FT3 low in range as normal.

Have your ferritin, vitD, B12 and folate been tested recently? They need to be high in range for well being. Deficiency or low in range results of these can also cause the symptoms you describe.

I wish doctors would refrain from calling it the "normal" range - it is a REFERENCE range!!! My T3 and T4 were in the range ----but right at the bottom suggesting that it was low - to me anyway! It is your legal right to have those results - I could not have fought my corner without them. I suggest you get them and post them on here so people with some nouse about these things can help you. I posted mine a couple of months ago "Sheenah's Test Results" - I don't know how you would find them. I then discovered that my husband has hypo as well, and so have been fighting his corner too - also when you have them and have found help on here - write to your GP - it works wonders!! XX

Thanks Sheena and Clutter! I am hoping to get my results this week and I will post. The other tests I will deffo request and if they refuse I'll go private if necessary! Thanks again x
