How long till results

Am at the hospital Monday for scan and FNA how long does it take to get results back! My throat is burning so bad and feels like someone pinching my wind pipe dont really understand any of my results or what's happening :/

Cooky I got my Ultrasound and FNA same day but I think this is unusual and it's usually 2-4 weeks. The pinching of your windpipe sounds like the nodule is compressing it. I didn't experience pain or burning but that sounds like inflammation.

The procedure is uncomfortable as you lie with your throat thrust up. You'll be given anaesthetic on your skin. The needle and biopsy are a bit weird but I didn't find it painful. There will be bruising and swelling for a day or two which can be sore. I hope results are beingn.

Wow 2-4 for results that's going to.kill.me!! Only been waiting 10days for test and already have it in my head I have thyroid cancer!!!

ThyCa is still very rare and you probably don't have it. I'm not going to tell you not to worry because it won't stop you. However, ThyCa is easily removed and treatment is pretty much the same as for hypothyroidism except dose is higher to suppress TSH under 0.1 to prevent recurrence. Prognosis without recurrence after five years is the same as the rest of the population.

[Discovery]

I waited from October to January for my first FNA result. The second took 3 weeks. Good luck with yours.
