I've recently had some tests done at a private clinic. I have been very unwell for nearly 3 years now. I was initially diagnosed as hyper in march 2012 but left untreated as was told my bloods were normal by the time my appointment with the endo came around. Strangely, my symptoms have never left me. I have been referred all around the hospital and had no luck with a diagnosis of any sort. So my doctor is happy to just supply me with 200+ propranolol at a time and send me on my way. I'll add my thyroid results below with reference ranges, though the ranges seem very out from the ranges where i live?! My samples were sent to a lab in London. I'm not sure what difference this makes if any. Anyway, I'm suffering with a whole load of hyper symptoms. Tests results are as follows...
Total Thyroxine (T4) - 96 - nmol/L (59-154)
TSH - 0.47 - mIU/L - (0.27 - 4.2)
Free Thyroxine - 17.8 - pmol/l - (12.0 - 22.0)
Free T3 - 4.2 - pmol/L - (3.1 - 6.8)
Thyroid antibodies
Thyroglobulin Antibody - 20.9 - IU/mL - (0 - 115 ) Negative
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies - 12.2 - IU/mL - (0 - 34)
I can see from looking that all the numbers fall within their range. But i'm not well. At all. I'm desperate to eat properly again. Since i first became ill with an over active thyroid i became intolerant to wheat/gluten, dairy, egg, soya. It just heightened/increased all of my symptoms to a point i could barely function/look after my children. So i cut them out. My doctor just laughed and said "rather you than me! what do you eat? ha!" Needless to say i wanted to poke his eyes out!
Ranting aside, I'd really appreciate any input.
Thankyou, Kelly x
