Dry skin on NDT?

Hi,

Tried NDT a while back and feel more rounded on it. The only odd thing is scaly/dry skin on my torso. I know this is a hypo symptom, but Im not hypo. Its definitely the NDT as I've never had it before.

Anyone else can shine any light on this? :(

Not a specific reply to your question but I've been well controlled hypo for 10 years on levo and T3 but have recently developed horrendously dry, scaly skin on my forehead, arms, ears, eyebrows and legs. I feel myself it is thyroid related even though my bloods are fairly ok. I am going to ask my GP but as yet haven't got round to it and use E45 which helps. As reallyfedup123 says evening primrose oil may help and I'm off to try it.:)

Im on Thyroid-s. I've reduced my dose and take a couple of T3 tablets to accompany them. The Endo refused to prescribe Armour as he couldnt be sure of suppression :( So I took the ?T3 just to make sure Im getting some active hormone. The NDT is giving me 'something' that T4 or T3 never did, so this is the only way I can be sure of getting suppression and all my thyroid hormones.

I don't think the scaly skin is related to taking T3 and NDT as it was worse when I was on NDT only.

Hi real-mission

How did you find an endo who will give you NDT. I too have had my thyroid removed because of cancer but cannot seem to find help moving to NDT. I have tried to move to NDT myself but am struggling with this (heart racing, etc) any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
